Change is needed – but how?
Are you doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results? It’s time for a change, but how do you start?
There are goals you would like to achieve but not a clear idea of how to accomplish them.
You may need to make some decisions but need advice from someone without an agenda.
Lesson one: You cannot control what others do or how they react; you can only control your reactions.
Take time to find the answers.
Individual therapy allows you to focus on exploring thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a compassionate guide.
I am in the business of teaching to heal, not to fix. Fixing implies that something is broken, but people aren’t broken. Wounds need nurturing to heal appropriately.
Therapy is challenging but is meant to help people identify the roadblocks that keep them from feeling fulfilled.
People often find their thinking habits lead them to undesirable actions, such as jumping to conclusions, assuming the worst, minimizing emotions, and being overly critical of themselves. Sound familiar?
Emotions are the solution – not the problem.
Emotions can seem overwhelming, but it does not mean something is wrong.
Learning how to validate your emotions is the key to understanding their origins. Those emotions may come from how you were raised or specific experiences throughout your life.
Exploring those emotions can lead to enlightenment and a way to where you want to go.
There are a lot of “lightbulb” moments in therapy.
Some people want solutions so they can quickly move on. I’m sorry, but not here. Your results with me should be long-lasting, and the strategies you learn should apply to different situations.
We can sort through them together as if you were cleaning out an attic full of boxes. What do you throw away, keep, and refurbish?
Individual therapy provides a safe, judge-free space to think aloud and to stop keeping a jumbled mess of thoughts in your mind.
My goal is to help you sort through the mess. Contact me today to learn more about how individual therapy can help you.
